UNPROTECTED

Alan Santana is anticipating the release of his forthcoming book entitled UNPROTECTED: A Tactical Approach to Boxing, Business, and Life, slated for release in the first quarter of 2016.

SYNOPSIS

Alan Santana started fighting at age of eight in orders to protect himself from being bullied in school. Alan grew up in Wilmington, CA with his family.  His father Armando, being a former professional fighter was eager to teach his son the art of boxing. Alan excelled as an amateur at a very early age, and picked up the sport rather quickly. The moves seem to come without much effort and he developed a wicked left hook and a style that emulated his idol Muhammad Ali.

“Unprotected” also gives you the history of the sport and how it migrated from Europe to the United States and evolved into the sport that it is today.

Alan turned professional at 27 years old and had 10 professional fights under his belt when his boxing career was cut short due to a serious accident while driving a dump truck for his father’s paving company. He started his company Bay Cities Paving Company in 1989 after walking away from boxing. During his time in the gym he absorbed everything about the sport and he had witnessed many fighters wind up broke after making hundreds of thousands of dollars in a sport that was unforgiving.  He felt that it was a good idea to teach young fighters about the ins and outs of the sport so that they would not wind up in the same conditions as many fighters before them. The book teaches fighters or professional athletes about every aspect of the sport from management to contracts. It is a quick reference guide for professional boxers, athletes or anyone who is looking to get into business of sports for themselves.

NO TEEN RIDERS
The mission of NO TEEN RIDERS is to educate teen drivers and their families by providing practical information, preventive measures, and compliance standards to reduce and eliminate teen vehicular deaths.

“In today’s world, too many young drivers and their passengers are losing their lives across the country every day. We have created a solution to help save the lives of young drivers and passengers. NO TEEN RIDERS will do this by giving law enforcement officers and the general public a visual license plate frame and decal that will serve as an identity and compliance aid for teen drivers. After all, “IT’S ABOUT THE KIDS” Saving Lives One Teen Driver at a Time.
